How to get Above 90% IN Class 12 Mathematics

<A>STEP 1:-Make NCERT book your bible. Revise and practise all the problems solved and unsolved in the NCERT book STEP:2__ Solve EVERGREEN SAMPLE PAPER..

<B> <<<<Points to remember>>>> 1.Marks are deducted for missing steps. So remember to write down all the steps. 2.Practice. Practice. Practice. This is the mantra for scoring good marks in CBSE Class 12 Mathematics Exam. 3.Make NCERT book your bible. Revise and practise all the problems solved in the NCERT book.

<C>Important topics:-Integration,,Differentiation,,Matrices and determinants,, Relations and functions,,Probability,,Applic ation of Derivatives

<D>Important topics by marks:-Calculus - 44 marks Vectors and 3-D Geometry – 17 marks Algebra – 13 marks Relations and functions- 4marks Probability – 10 marks linear programng- 6 marks each

<E>Tips for preparation:-To score well in mathematics in a CBSE exam, it is very important to complete your NCERT book. Almost the entire paper revolves around the concepts given in your NCERT book. Move to a reference book only if and when you are through with each and every question and you know each and every question (both, solved and unsolved) by-heart, given in your NCERT book. To ace the CBSE mathematics exam, you need to know the NCERT book really well. Some formulas have certain rules that you need to follow, in order to correctly use them. For instance, in order to use the quadratic formula, you must change the equation to standard quadratic form first. Some formulas are very general and require you to identify the parts in the problem that correspond to parts in the formula. If you don’t understand how the formula works and the principle behind it, it can often be very difficult to use the formula. For example, while performing integration, it is not difficult to memorize the formula for integration by parts, however, if you don’t understand how to use this formula, you will find the memorized formula of no use. For a problem based question, Read the problem to get an idea of what you’re being asked to do. Write down what you are given and what you need to find. Work with the things given in a systematic way and try to find what is asked. >Make a sheet of important concepts/formulas. Make sure you know these formulas and more importantly, their usage. >Solve all the miscellaneous solved and unsolved questions too. >Solve the Sample Papers of CBSE .

<D>How to score well:> 1.Before you start the exam, utilize the first 15 minutes to scan the paper. Read the question paper thoroughly before jumping to write the answers. 2.Among the questions with internal choices, select the ones that you plan to attempt, and frame skeletons of the answers you are going to write for these questions. Follow a pattern. For example, in case you start with long answer questions, complete that section and only then move to short or very short answer section. 3.Highlight the important points and write your answer in points to enhance visibility.

IIST 2013 Admission Criteria Announced

Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology - IIST conducted its own entrance examination, ISAT till 2012. As per the decision taken by the MHRD that Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTI) should use the JEE MAIN as the entrance examination for admission into under graduate engineering programmes, IIST (being a CFTI) has decided to discontinue its admission test, ISAT from 2013 and join JEE Main.

In the earlier notification of IIST , it was made clear that the admissions to under graduate courses of IIST will be as per the All India Rank list of JEE MAIN 2013 (which would be prepared by the CBSE). IIST had also specified that there would be additional eligibility criteria for the B.Tech admissions; it has now announced that aspirants need to score certain percentage of marks in JEE ADVANCED (the test required to gain admission into the prestigious IITs and ISM,Dhanbad) also.

Following are the highlights:

Admissions are open to - Indian Citizens only

Date of Birth of Aspirants: For general and OBC categories, it is on or after 1.10.1988. For SC/ST/PD categories - on or after 1.10.83

Eligibility:

An aspirant has to figure in the All India rank list of JEE MAIN 2013 as prepared by the CBSE.

AND
he should also score certain percentage of marks in JEE ADVANCED 2013.

The aspirant should be listed among the top 1,50,000 candidates of JEE Main 2013 to be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2013. To be eligible for admissions into IIST under graduate programmes, the aspirant has to appear for JEE ADVANCED and has to score the following minimum prescribed category-wise marks in JEE(Advanced)-2013:

(a) General Candidates: At least 5% marks in each of the three subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) and 20% marks in aggregate.

(b) OBC (NCL) Candidates: At least 90% of the marks prescribed for General Candidates under (a).

(c) SC, ST & PD Candidates: At least 50% the marks prescribed for General Candidates under (a).
Please note that the marks secured by the candidate in JEE (Advanced)-2013 examination will be used ONLY for deciding eligibility for admission, and will not be considered for preparing the rank list for admission to IIST.

Again if candidate does not meet the eligibility criteria, i.e., not scoring the prescribed percentage of marks in JEE ADVANCED will not be considered for admission to B.Tech programmes of IIST even if his/her name appears in the JEE(Main)-2013 rank list.

Admission to Undergraduate Programmes (B.Tech) for the year 2013 will be based on the All India Rank List (including category rank list) to be prepared and published for the year 2013 by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). This rank list is based on 60% weightage of score in the Joint Entrance Examination JEE(Main)-2013, and 40% of normalized score in Class 12th or other qualifying examinations.
